Thank You For Your Service

This month, we want to pause and remember the veterans we have had the privilege of serving. We’ve heard tales of daring missions, of quiet sacrifice, and of lifelong bonds forged in the act of service. Each one is a testament to their courage and commitment. We want to thank you for sharing your stories, your sacrifice, the freedoms we share today, and for entrusting us to serve you.

Thank you to all who have served. We salute you today and every day.

Serving Our Veterans

We understand many veterans face unique challenges as they age, some related to their time in service. These can be physical, emotional, or psychological, and they require a special understanding. That’s where a dedicated approach to care comes in. Palliative care, which can be provided at any stage, offers an extra layer of support. It focuses on relieving symptoms and improving quality of life, not just for the patient, but for their families as well.

When the time comes for end-of-life care, hospice provides a similar, yet more intensive, focus on comfort, dignity, and peace. It’s a holistic approach that honors the whole person – their experiences, their values, and their desires for their final days. For a veteran, this often includes a deep sense of patriotism and pride, and a desire to be remembered for their service. At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that this is not only remembered, but celebrated.

We are committed to ensuring that every veteran receives the respect and specialized support they deserve. This Veterans Day, let us remember their service helped shape our nation; it is our honor to help them navigate the final part of their journey with the same dignity they displayed while serving.
